New and former students:
We will be opening registration VERY soon, so keep your eyes open! We are rebuilding the classrooms and common rooms, getting professor positions filled, and trying to make this year a bit more organized than last year, so bare with us!If you’re interested in a teaching position:
We are now accepting professor applications. The link is located on the school’s page, you will need to copy/paste it into an email to the.hogwarts.staff@gmail.com, put “(class you’re applying for) professor application” in the subject, and fill it out honestly. We will inform you if you have been accepted, or if you have not. Keep in mind, if a professor is inactive for any excessive amount of time, we will be replacing them, seeing as the school term will only be a few months! DEADLINE FOR PROFESSOR APPLICATIONS IS MAY 24TH.If you’ve got any questions, feel free to send an owl our way and we will do our best to get back to you. Keep your ears open for more information! :)

If you have a club you’d like to start before summer,
email me and we’ll talk about it. (:
In case any of you want to make a club, submit your ideas!

Students of Hogwarts,
we have talked (finally), and come to the conclusion that the school will be somewhat closed until the summer season (date to be determined).
What I mean by this is,
- classes will be closed until summer
- common rooms will remain open
- clubs will begin to be established (email me for info @ professor_wilkins@live.com)
- quidditch may still be held (if proper amounts of students can be found to fill teams)
- staff will be revised, based on participation in the previous year (and possibly voting)
We will also be creating a Harry Potter Appreciation blog, which will be promoted on the school’s blog.
We appreciate all of your opinions and apologize to the students who will be disappointed by our decisions.
- Headmistress, Professor Wilkins
- Headmaster, Professor PhoenixP.S.
There will be dates announced as to when enrolling and the “summer season” will begin in a few months, so keep updated with the school’s blog!

So as I’m sure you all already know
school has lost a great amount of attendance and students and professors alike (me as well) are a little too busy in the Muggle world, as I’m sure you all are aware of, yourselves being pretty busy also.
Hopefully, the term will start back up next summer when everyone has more free time and isn’t busy with Muggle life. I sure can’t wait to keep studying History of Magic with you all soon!
Thank you,

Assignment #2 Due: 30 September
So I assume you all have the simple reading done and are ready to start with your assignment.
I want you to tell me the importance you got from your reading and how the Ancient World is an important stepping stone to today. What key events attributed to the Wizarding society we live in today?
For this assignment, you will give me at least one paragraph describing your answer. I strongly encourage you discuss this on the Facebook page I made for you all! This is in hopes to get you to one day be able to find the why in history. By the end of this class, I hope you will improve greatly.
This is a simple assignment! I hope you finish it properly and on time. Please send an owl if you have any questions or comments.
Get working!

Lecture 5 Sept. Ancient Wizarding World
Hello class and here is your next lecture!
Today we will be learning about the Ancient Wizarding World and how events in the early BC have helped to form the society we live in today. I have posted a number of pages from the HP Lexicon website and I want you to read the introductions and up to 0 BC. Click on any links in the passage to give you more information about the subject. You can read as far as you want in the timeline but keep in mind that this lesson and your assignment will only be on the Ancient Wizarding World.
After reading these pages, I want you to think about the importance of your readings and how these events affect us today. Post discussions on the Facebook page I created and read what others have to say on the subject as well. (you will want to do this)
I will post the assignment for this month later today. Keep a look out for it!

Being a history major in Muggle university does have its difficulties.
And as much as I loath reading as much as I have to, it’s all worth it in the end.
I will have a new lecture and assignment up for you all hopefully by monday!

So later today I’ll catch up on grading and whatnot.
Some of you are sending me owls saying you can’t be in the class anymore because of Muggle schooling, and I understand. I will also be starting my third year of Muggle college and will also be swamped with work. This is why I’m trying to give you all plenty of time to get these assignments done.
On a side note, keep posting and introducing yourself on the Facebook page I made!

A fair amount of you have started turning in your assignments.
This is a graded assignment, but I’ll be a little more lenient for this first one but know that I will be grading harder on future assignments, so put the effort in! One sentence answers might not cut it later on…..
